🌍 Countryddle

How to play

A hidden country is chosen every day. To play, type the name of a country in the box and press Guess. Each guess is compared to the hidden country, and you use those clues to find it. You have up to 7 guesses.

Each guess is placed on six scales: size, population, GDP per capita, capital latitude, number of neighbouring countries and best World Cup finish (last 50 years).

On every scale, the arrow on your guess points toward the hidden country, and the shaded band shows the range where it can still be. means your guess matches that value.

Under the scales, a map shades the latitudes the hidden country can still be in and lights up every country whose capital falls inside them — a nudge when you are stuck for names to try. Tap a country on the map to drop its name in the box, if it is easier than spelling it.

The hidden country is one of 172 — every country with at least 350,000 people. Smaller ones appear greyed out in the list and are never the answer, though you can still guess anything.
